Chronicles Of Harkle: Oh, Now She Acts Like A Royal?

suck-up

Oh, now Meghan is a royal suck-up? Save us the pageantry, will you? While the Sussex Squad screams that there was no booing at the Saint Paul’s thanksgiving service, the Sussexes have appeared very few times during the Platinum Jubilee. But, though things have seemed odd a couple of times, we have seen them.

Join us as we question why Meghan Markle is suddenly a royal suck-up. To all the Sussex Squaddies who might happen across this, please get off the site. We know you’ll cry and complain in the comments section and on social media.

The Suck-Up Behaviour

For a woman who wanted to bypass Her Majesty in the royal pecking order and transform the monarchy into a woke institution where no one can question her, Meghan is now doing what she should’ve been doing from the start; following the rules.

This jumps off from Meghan’s only engagement with Her Majesty The Queen, where she was meant to wear a hat and didn’t.

Then comes the complaint of not wanting to serve Archie up on a silver platter for the public to see. Now, this was one instance that people have convinced him that he and Lilibet don’t exist. You would think that due to her obsession with Diana, Meghan would want to present her children to the world in the same fashion.

That’s what brings us to another point; Lili’s name. Meghan and Harry named their daughter Lilibet after the Queen’s nickname. However, it has been said that after the death of Prince Philip, Her Majesty asked not for the name to be used again. However, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark said in an ITV interview that she calls Queen Elizabeth “Lilibet” while The Queen calls her “Daisy.”

Now, the Queen only allows certain people to call her ‘Lilibet.’ Her cousins still likely use it, but her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren wouldn’t. So what makes Harry and Meghan so unique that they see it fit to use a private name for their daughter?

It has long been thought that Harry is Her Majesty’s favourite grandchild. However, it has been said that perhaps Prince Edward’s son, James is the Queen’s favourite grandson. We don’t know, as it’s just something we’ve heard.

Then, we get to the gloves thing. Meghan has worn gloves once during the Troop the Colour while she was on maternity leave after Archie’s birth.

Why Act Royal Now, When She Couldn’t Before?

One thing I cannot get my head around is why Meghan has suddenly decided to suck up and act royally. She didn’t care about the rules before, so why does she care now? This is an easy one. It’s for the Netflix cameras. It has been said that the streaming cameras were not permitted at the Platinum Jubilee. However, some believe that Meghan’s Nurse Ratched inspired dress that she wore to Saint Paul’s was concealing recording equipment. It’s not a bad thought as something was poking up from under the dress like something from a microphone.

Again, I don’t know if any of this is true, but given how the Sussexes are desperate for content, I wouldn’t put it past them. So, the suck-up could be an act for the cameras too. Meghan was an actor, but not a good one, and even in her post-acting life, it shows. Her tears during the Oprah interview were as fake as the lies she told about Catherine making her cry.

The act is to make Meghan out as the perfect royal. Having her utilise aspects of royal life that she took for granted previously would boost her image, or so she believes. Also, it has caught people’s attention that the Sussexes were not around the senior royals and for a good reason. So the last thing anyone needed was for the media to spin the situation into something it wasn’t.
