Thomas Kingston, Gabriella Windsor

In heartbreaking news for the British Royal Family, the husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, Thomas Kingston, was found dead at a location in Gloucestershire on Sunday night British time, according to The Daily Mail. He was the son-in-law of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Prince Michael is a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The death of Thomas Kingston, who worked in Finance and was a former hostage negotiator, is said to have been a massive shock to his parents and sisters as well as his royal in-laws.

Not Suspicious

Mister Kingston’s death is not believed to be suspicious. An inquiry will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of Lady Gabriella Windsor, Mister and Mrs Kingston and Thomas’s two sisters, as per the Mirror. The King and Queen has been made aware of Kingston’s death. They have issued a statement as mentioned in Town and Country.

The death of Thomas Kingston is not believed to be the reason why Prince William pulled out of the memorial service for his late godfather, King Constantine II. It is also not believed to have anything to do with his wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales. She is believed to be recovering well from abdominal surgery. Prince and Princess Michael were in attendance at the event in light of their son-in-law’s passing.

Lady Gabriella Windsor Grieves Her Husband

Lady Gabriella is also a godchild of King Constantine II, and she attended the former Greek monarch’s funeral in 2023. It is believed she was representing Prince William as well, as he could not be there.

Ella, as Lady Gabriella is affectionately known, famously fainted while the late Queen was lying in state in 2022. Her husband aided her before she was taken out of the event as a precaution. She was also close to The Queen, as seen at her 2019 wedding.

Thomas Kingston did not have children with Lady Gabriella but was uncle to her two nieces, Isabella and Maud. They are the daughters of his brother-in-law, Lord Frederick. He is survived by his wife, his parents, Martin and Jill and his sisters, Johanna and Emma.
