Krypton Season 2: What Hidden Secrets Does The Teaser Trailer Hold?

Last week Krypton fans were finally treated to an actual teaser trailer for Season 2. Talk about exciting! So, what secrets does the teaser hold? The preview is only concise and only shows a few clips and a few voiceovers, so there’s not to talk about for this breakdown. Instead, let’s do a breakdown and see what we can find.

1. New Uniforms For Military Or House Of Zod

We glimpse new uniforms for the Military Guild or the House of Zod. We get a quick look at what General Zod is wearing from behind in the first image, and we see the female version of Lyta in the second image.

2. Nyssa’s New Look

When we see Nyssa in this teaser, she looks scared. Why we can only speculate at the moment, she knows she’s a clone of the original Nyssa, and she’s working with Jax-Ur. We also don’t know how much time has passed since we last saw her. For all we know, her new look could reflect her new status as mother to Cor-Vex, the son she conceived (via the Genesis Chamber) with Seg in the Pilot episode. So let’s jump a little deeper into our breakdown of the likelihood of space exploration.

3. Space Exploration? – We Need A Proper Breakdown Of This

The next shot we see looks like a space shuttle ascending upwards. We can only guess what it’s for, but if we had to, we reckon it could be a way to travel to new planets or even into the Phantom Zone.

4. Zod Statue – Again, We Need A Breakdown Just For This Statue

We get a glimpse of the Zod statue that looks like the shot was taken from Season 1’s finale. I would hate to be Adam right now. But, unfortunately, there’s nothing much to talk about here.

5. More Zod!

Our next shot is just a closeup of General Zod holding a blaster? Gun thingy?

6. An Alternate Fortress Of Solitude?

The next shot is Seg standing before the House of El sigil, but where is he exactly? It looks like he could be in the place his grandfather lived while Val was in the Phantom Zone for fourteen years.

7. Seg’s Got A Full Beard! – We Need To Do A Breakdown Of Seg’s Full Look!

We knew from the end of Season 1 that Seg’s alive. We also see that time has passed since he got pulled into the Phantom Zone by Brainiac. How do we know? The image above shows Seg’s got a full beard going! Woo! I don’t know about you, but I think this might be a reference to a Superman comic arc where the Man of Steel has a beard. Also, judging by the background of the shot, Seg’s in the same place the sigil is. It’s just another angle. I’d also love to know if it was all Cameron Cuffe’s facial hair.

8. Brainiac’s Back!

Since Seg’s in the Phantom Zone, there’s no way we wouldn’t see Brainiac again. Also, this shot could be just moments after he and Seg get pulled into the void or some time after. How big would the Phantom Zone be anyway?

9. Doomsday Runs Wild – This Will Cause A Breakdown From Everyone!

The trailer gives a massive tease of how much of a role Doomsday will play after the beast escaped captivity last season. The creature created by the El and Zod families will be a looming presence this season.

10. Going Up Against Doomsday

In the same section of the trailer as we see Doomsday, there’s a brief glimpse of a skimmer. What could be happening here? Could someone be trying to stop the unstoppable creature, or could they be trying to find a weakness? We need to wait to find out.

11. Seg versus Brainiac – We Need A Breakdown Of This Rivalry

Towards the end of the trailer, we see Seg attack Brainiac. Will he succeed? Probably not, but it depends if the alien’s powers work in the Phantom Zone.

12. Val Communicates And Frees Seg?

The last scene in the promo is Val trying to communicate with his missing grandson. We see him give Seg the sunstone with the El sigil, and by the looks of it, Seg tries to break his way out of the Phantom Zone.

Takeaway

While the trailer is just a teaser, we’re excited about the new season. We hope you enjoyed our first trailer breakdown. If you want to see the whole trailer, it’s below:

Krypton returns to Syfy for its sophomore season sometime in 2019.
