We have a new Batwoman! God Friended Me star Javicia Leslie has been cast as the new Bat Lady! Welcome!

There’s a new Bat in Gotham City! After the departure of Ruby Rose from the titular role, The CW has been searching for their new leading lady for Batwoman‘s sophomore season. Well, they’ve found her in the form of God Friended Me star Javicia Leslie.

Javicia, who is bisexual, is the first black actress to take on the role of Batwoman. We have will no doubt be a great role model. Currently, it is unknown whether her version of the Lady Bat will keep the name Ryan Wilder or if the name will change.

Moreover, it should be noted that Javicia will be the one in the Bat cowl when Batwoman crosses over with new Arrowverse addition Superman & Lois. This is going to be awesome! We wonder what her relationship will be like with Luke and Mary.

The information at the moment is so new that it might be a while before we get more character Intel as filming has not begun yet. we want to extend our congratulations to Javicia on her casting and we cannot wait to see what you bring to the role of Batwoman.

Production for all the Arrowverse shows should return in the next few months. Batwoman is one of the many DCTV shows to shoot in Vancouver, Canada which is also the shooting place for The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and the upcoming Superman & Lois. Fellow superhero shoes Black Lightning and Stargirl are both shoot in Atlanta, Georgia.

In conclusion, we welcome Javicia with open arms and cannot wait to see her in action.

Batwoman is due to premiere Season 2 in early 2021 alongside its returning sister shows The Flash and Superman & Lois.
