Is Harry Potter On HBO Max?

HBO Max, Harry Potter

HBO Max (now just Max) did have the Harry Potter franchise on its platform as the series is owned by Warner Brothers, which owns the streamer. However, the films were removed in February 2023, according to Games Radar. This is the second removal of the movies as they were taken off in August 2022, only for them to return a few months later in November 2022.

The Fantastic Beasts films were also removed from the platform; since the launch of HBO Max (now Max), the Wizarding World franchise has had what has been described as a complicated relationship with the streamer. The films are constantly being removed.

Harry Potter Appears On Other Streamers Outside Of HBO Max

The Harry Potter films were also on the NBC Universal streamer Peacock. In Australia, the films, including Fantastic Beasts, can be found on Binge. The Potter films can also be found on Paramount+ in Australia.

As of writing, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the only Fantastic Beasts film on Paramount+ in Australia. Anyone’s guess is whether the other two films will be available.

Finally, there was an announcement before the official HBO Max transition to Max that a Harry Potter television series would be coming soon. However, there has been no additional information about it since. The only thing that has come out is that Daniel Radcliffe has said he will not appear, even if he were asked. it is unclear if the other cast members feel that way.

It has been said that if the television series goes ahead, it will be more accurate telling of the books.
