Why Does Hera Have A Cabin At Camp Half-Blood When She Doesn’t Have Demigod Children?

Hera, Cabin

Hera, Queen of the Gods. Goddess of Marriage. Hater of demigod heroes that Zeus sires. The list goes on. Oh, and she’s also responsible for ripping Percy Jackson away from his girlfriend, Annabeth Chase, for eight months. So yeah, she’s a ray of sunshine, bringing us to our post. Why does Hera, a demigod-hating goddess, have a cabin at Camp Half-blood?

It’s all about respect for the Queen of the Gods. Hera’s cabin is only ever honorary, though the mortal Oracle of Delphi, Rachel Elizabeth Dare, was possessed when she was inside the cabin. As you can expect, there are no bunks since no Hera demigods are running around. For a long time, Zeus’s cabin had no beds either until Thalia Grace resided in the cabin before she became a Hunter of Artemis.

Her brother Jason touched on this when he was living in Zeus’s cabin while he was staying at Camp Half-Blood. Since there were no bunks, Jason had to sleep on the floor in the same alcove Thalia did when she lived in the cabin.

Moreover, Hera thought it would be fun to have Jason and Percy switch places and lose memories of their lives. While it did help in the fight against Gaea, it made the heroes grow warier of her. Leo already had issues with her as she attempted to kill him as a baby or “test” him since he was her grandson, given he is a child of her son, Hephaestus.

Also, Annabeth has developed a real hatred for Hera. The goddess stole eight months from her, which she could’ve spent with Percy.
