The Cast Of The Daddy Day Care Movies

Daddy Day

The Daddy Day Care movies have had three different casts since the first film’s release in 2003. In this post, we will examine the casts in all three films and explain some of the changes. Also, this is only a loose cast list for all three films, as so many people are in the cast.

We’ll also only include the recognisable names as it’s easier for SEO.

Daddy Day Care (2003)

The first film stars Eddie Murphy as Charles “Charlie” Hinton, who starts Daddy Day Care, a childcare facility, with his two friends Phil (Jeff Garlin) and Marvin (Steve Zahn).

Other members of the cast include:

  • Regina King as Kim Hinton, Charlie’s wife and Ben’s mother
  • Lacey Chabert as Jenny
  • Anjelica Huston as Gwyneth Hariddan
  • Elle Fanning as Jamie
  • Jimmy Bennett as Tony “The Flash”
  • Kevin Nealon as Bruce

Daddy Day Camp (2007)

The second film has the same characters, but the cast is different, and there are few references to the original Daddy Day Care events. Also, Marvin is omitted entirely. The only original kids are Ben and Max, the sons of Charlie and Phil, respectively.

Recognisable faces in this film are surprisingly lacking.

  • Cuba Gooding Jr as Charlie (replacing Eddie Murphy)
  • Brian Doyle-Murray as Uncle Morty
  • Lochlyn Munro as Lance Warner

Grand-Daddy Day Care (2019)

Finally, we get to the third film. We had no idea this film existed until we went looking for images. So, this film moves largely away from the original story and sees a struggling writer take centre stage. The only character from the previous two movies to appear in this movie is Charlie, again recast with a different actor.

The cast in Grand-Daddy Day Care is even more unrecognisable than in the previous film.

  • Danny Trejo as Eddie Hernandez
  • Reno Wilson as Frank Collins
  • Barry Bostwick as “Dynamite” Dan North
  • James Hong as Walter
  • Linda Gray as Blanche
  • Clint Howard as Judge Littles
