Why Harry And Meghan Underestimated The Popularity Of The Crown

Underestimating, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

September 8 2023. The Queen is dead. Prince Harry whinges in Spare that his family was horrible to him the day his grandmother, the great Queen Elizabeth II, died. All he thinks about is himself, and he has a massive underestimation of the crown’s power over the people. He did not stop to consider how his brother, William, his uncles Andrew and Edward and his aunt, Sophie, felt about being unable to see Her Majesty before she expired. They waited for him to arrive at the airport but left without him when he didn’t arrive. All because he was insistent that his “precious wife”, Meghan Markle, be there, despite being told that their sister-in-law, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, would not be there. There were no other royal spouses there.

Camilla was already in Scotland with Charles, and Sophie was part of Her Majesty’s inner circle, hence the reason she was there in the first place. Prince Harry can blame his family for not being able to see his grandmother before she died. However, the real culprit is Meghan Markle. She, too, had an underestimation of how powerful the crown is.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Thought The People Were On Their Side

In the mind of the Sussexes, the people were on their side and hated the crown. However, they were sorely mistaken when they saw the outpouring of grief from the entirety of the United Kingdom and the world. Odd though.

Prince Harry once complained that no one could mourn his mother’s death as the public didn’t know her, yet he says nothing about the world mourning his grandmother. It’s the same thing, essentially. His mother and grandmother were women who defied their positions as royal women. They are true female icons as they did the work that was expected of them.

The only complaints that Princess Diana had were about her husband, Camilla and the press, despite calling the paps half the time herself. The late princess broke down barriers with AIDS and HIV and raised awareness for landmines.

Queen Elizabeth II Was A True Feminist

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952 when it was a man’s world; women were seen as invisible, and the male populace was seen as more important than their female counterparts. Look at how the line of succession treated its women before 2013. Princess Anne should have been the spare. Instead, upon the births of her younger brothers, Andrew and Edward, she was pushed below them. As was Lady Louise when her younger brother, James, was born in 2007.

Upon Princess Charlotte’s birth in 2015, she became the first female at the top of the LOS not to be displaced in the line of succession by a younger brother. Her younger brother, Prince Louis, was born in 2018.

Meghan Markle And The Outdated Female Labels

Meghan Markle doesn’t seem to grasp that her “feminist” ideas are outdated. Her podcast, Archetypes, which was cancelled by Spotify after one season, was based on stereotypes that The Queen broke when she took the throne fifty years ago. No one is calling women “ambitious” or “bimbos” or “angry black women.” Also, what is so bad about calling another woman a bitch? The former actress treated the word as the C-word or the F-word.

The Royal Women Who Have Endured Worse Than Meghan Markle

Royal women who preceded Meghan have had to endure worse than Meghan. For example, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden almost lost her position as the future Queen because the government was digging its heels in to allow her to marry her husband, Daniel Westling. Her younger sister, Princess Madeleine, was engaged to a Swede before she married Christopher O’Neil and was cheated on by her former fiancé. Queen Sofia of Spain was cheated on by her husband, King Juan Carlos, with dozens of women and now lives a virtually separate life from him but is still married.

Another big one is Queen Paola of Belgium, whose husband had fathered a love child whom he denied was his until a court of law ordered him to take a DNA test or risk being fined for every day he didn’t take the test.

Meghan Markle Prince Harry’s “We Were Wrong” Moment

Meghan knows nothing of sacrifice, and neither does Prince Harry. When they saw the crowds during their walkabout with the Waleses, it probably annoyed them that William and Catherine were one step closer to the crown and they were still the bottom feeders; they likely realised their assumptions about how beloved the family is.

Plenty of people will say, “Oh, the monarchy’s not popular”, “Charles isn’t our king” and all this crap. However, the crowds that showed up to mourn the Queen and celebrate Charles and Camilla’s coronation show that people do care. Harry and Meghan raised their underestimation at this moment, so they still pretend to be royals. They know they’re nothing without it. No one would care who they are if they didn’t have their titles.

No one cares if Prince Harry is “Diana’s boy.” William is “Diana’s boy” too and is the more important one. No one but Harry and their rabid, uneducated followers see Meghan Markle as the new coming of Diana. The underestimation of this small group of people is just astonishing.

Also, the underestimation seems to have pushed Meghan to do her “tear, left eye” routine. She never cared about The Queen and only “cried” because a camera was on her. Furthermore, she wanted to be seen as “sympathetic.” If she genuinely cared for Her Majesty, she would have allowed Harry to go to Balmoral without her and would have allowed her children to see their great-grandmother. Oh, and not have moved Harry and Archie out of the UK.

The Crowds Proved Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Wrong

The outpouring of grief for The Queen was massive. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not expecting to see the crowds as big as they were. Also, it isn’t surprising they might have thought this given their underestimation of how the world doesn’t revolve around them or their victim narrative.

Queen Elizabeth II was the only monarch most people knew. Now, her son is making his own mark. She was the Commonwealth’s grandmother. The Sussexes don’t realise 70 years is a long time for service. It’s likely they don’t realise that 72 engagements can be achieved in a week.
