A week ago, the Daily Mail reported that the two brothers caught up in the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax have spoken out. The disgraced actor paid brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo to fake a mugging in 2019 to get him sympathy and a pay rise.
Jussie told authorities he had been homophobically attacked by two caucasian men wearing MAGA hats who placed a noose around his neck. The alleged “hate crime” story got him sympathy, but the story quickly unravelled.
The police couldn’t find the alleged assailants and found that the entire thing had been one massive hoax. Jussie, before the truth was uncovered, had enormous support from prominent figures, including now-Vice President Kamala Harris. The story was in the media for days. He maintains his innocence.
The Brothers Testified Against Jussie
Meanwhile, the Osundairo brothers gave compiling testimonies against him. Ultimately, the jury found Smollett guilty of faking the hate crime. The brothers also said they felt betrayed by Jussie, with one saying that he thought Jussie was a good actor but was “a fraud.”
They also said that Smollett has never come out with the truth. What’s more, it is now a five-part documentary on the story. It took three days for the police to denounce Smollett’s claims as a hoax. This leads the police to work out how to get the brothers to confess to their role in the plot.
It has been alleged by the brothers that Jussie wanted to be the poster child for gay black people. But, finally, they also said that they quickly became friendly and would do favours for each other.
