The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Sharon No Longer Believes In Heroics And Ayo Shows Up Looking For Zemo

Being on the run has changed Sharon Carter and it shows in the latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier…

Being the great-niece of S.H.I.E.L.D. founder Peggy Carter is bound to be a struggle. But for Sharon, she never found it a challenge because very few people knew of her relationship with the original Agent 13. This week’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode, entitled ‘Power Broker’ has the former CIA agent reunite with Sam and Bucky and let’s say she is not the same person she was in Captain America: Civil War.

Having spent two years on the run prior to be snapped away by Thanos, Sharon no longer believes in heroics. Sam mentions last episode that she became public enemy number one after the Avengers Civil War which saw them both go on the run. This is bought up again where she tells her two friends and Baron Zemo that if she re-enters the United States, she’ll be arrested

Sam tells her that he can get her a pardon which she reluctantly agrees to. What was a great moment in the episode is how Sharon pulls her gun on Zemo when she saves Sam and Bucky’s hides. Were her aunt still alive, she would be so proud of her.

Ayo Is Looking For Zemo – Why?

In the final minutes of the episode, Bucky senses something’s off and tells Sam and Zemo to go on without him and he’ll catch up with them. He finds a series of Kimoyo Beads laying around and comes face-to-face with Ayo, Okoye’s second-in-command. Question is, why?

Wakanda has had a number of mentioned in the series so far. Most them have had to do with Bucky’s time recovering from his brainwashing with the help of Shuri. The Wakandans gave him the codename White Wolf which Sam mistook last episode as White Panther.

Bucky is familiar with the Dora Milaje enough to know who a number of them are outside of their armor.

Finally, there could be any number of explanations as to why Ayo is looking for Zemo. We know he framed Bucky in Captain America: Civil War for the bombing of the UN which killed King T’Chaka. So, what could she or the Wakandans want with him now?

There is a behind-the-scenes fact we need to acknowledge. Black Panther II will NOT be recasting T’Challa following the death of Chadwick Boseman. It’s possible that Ayo’s involvement in whatever comes next, might determine what happens. What Zemo has to do with it is for us to find out.
