Men Who Murder Their Families: A Look At 5 Faces Of Pure Evil

domestic violence

2. Rowan Baxter

Rowan Baxter is the very definition of a misogynist and paranoid. Generations of Baxter men treated women as nothing more than house cleaners and prostitutes. He even intended to kill his ex-partner and their son.

However, he never followed through with his plan. He met Hannah Clarke when she was 19, and they married in 2012. They later had three children; two daughters and a son. Over all those years, Baxter is violent toward his wife and treats her like she is beneath him. He was jealous of her success and did everything he could to undermine her. Like József Barsi, Rowan was a misogynist. He even treated his mother poorly.

Abuse

Hannah suffered terrible abuse at the hands of the man she married. He controlled every aspect of her life, including monitoring her phone, finances, and social media. Her friends and family did everything possible to get her and her children out.

Rowan’s domestic violence against his wife isn’t just verbal; it is sexual as well. He demanded sex from her daily; if she refused, she and the kids would suffer. Finally, the violence became so physical he almost broke her wrist.

Leaving Rowan

In early December 2019, Hannah took the kids and left. She took refuge with a friend, as Rowan didn’t know where she lived, and then moved to her parent’s house. Rowan later kidnaps one of their daughters, taking her out of state against Hannah’s wishes. After a conversation with one friend, Hannah realises Rowan might try to kill her and the kids.

In February, Hannah begins the day by taking the kids to school. Unfortunately, she does not pass the driveway as Rowan manages to jump into the car’s front seat, douses her and the kids with petrol, and set them alight. The kids died in the vehicle while Hannah could get out of the car. She ends up in hospital with 97% burns. Unfortunately, she passed that night. Rowan stabs himself in the chest and perishes at the scene.

Aftermath

In the aftermath of this tragedy, Rowan’s previously mentioned cousins spoke out against him, explaining their own experiences with him. While they gave separate interviews, Alana and Sandra agreed that Rowan Baxter was a monster. He was also a serial cheater.

Hannah’s brother, Nat, receives a text from her stepson, Isaiah saying how sorry he is for his father’s actions. Moreover, Hannah’s friends and family want Rowan to rot in hell for what he did to his family.

Hannah’s dad set up a charity called Small Steps 4 Hannah. The logo is the soles of Hannah’s feet. A Facebook page is dedicated to the cause set up by the Clarke family.
