It’s 2022, and MCU fans have a lot to look forward to this coming year. We had a stellar year in 2021 with the success of WandaVision garnering big award nominations for Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn. Then we had the more political centred The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Sam Wilson reluctantly decide whether he wanted to become Steve’s successor as Captain America.
After this, we had Loki, which explains where the 2012 version of Loki went after he escaped with the Tessaract in Avengers: Endgame. A line was crossed in the animated What If…? which had audiences see alternate events play out from the different MCU films. To end the year, we spent time with Clint Barton as he had run-ins with the tracksuit mafia during his time in New York around Christmas time in Hawkeye.
2022 will entice us with more MCU television shows for us to enjoy. There has been no news on what will be broadcast next. We’ll put them in the same order in which they appear on the Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom Phase Four page.

Welcome To The MCU, Poe Dameron! Uh, Moon Knight
It’s hard to get our heads around the idea of Oscar Isaac jumping over to the MCU this year as Moon Knight.
Isaac will play Marc Spector, a former American Marine who ends up with three additional personalities.
- Jake Lockley – taxi driver.
- Steven Grant – playboy millionaire.
- Moon Knight – after a run-in with the Egyptian god, Khonshu.
Fun fact regarding Moon Knight. There is a reference to the character in the first Doctor Strange film, according to the Moon Knight page on the MCU Fandom. In the New York Sanctum, a white mask with an ankh placed next to it is seen amongst other magical relics.
You Wouldn’t Like Her When She’s Angry
Unlike Moon Knight, She-Hulk has a direct tie to the MCU through a very famous relative. If the alias hasn’t given it away already, Jennifer Walters is the cousin of the Hulk himself, Bruce Banner. Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black fame will be playing the lady Hulk.
After receiving a blood transfusion from her scientist cousin, Jen becomes his female equivalent. However, there is a difference between the two cousins when they go green. Bruce and Hulk are two separate personalities, Jen and She-Hulk are the same and are in total control.
Bruce becomes Jennifer’s mentor as she learns to control her abilities.
It’s unclear as to when the series takes place. The first footage shows Bruce without his arm in a sling from Avengers: Endgame. She-Hulk may take during the 18 months that Banner mentions.
In the comics, Jen is given the blood transfusion after she is left for dead after being shot by an enemy of her late father. Considering that no one else shared her blood type, Bruce had no option but to agree to give her some of his own, despite what the gamma in his bloodstream could potentially do to her.
She Idolises Captain Marvel
We’re were so excited when Marvel Studios announced that Ms. Marvel would be getting a show on Disney+. Of all the characters coming into the MCU via a D+ series, Kamala Khan is the one we were more familiar with.
Pakistani-American teenager, Kamala Khan, lives in Jersey City with her family. Her family unit consists of her parents, older brother, and sister-in-law. She is a massive Avengers fan who writes fan. Though, her idol is Captain Marvel. As she struggles to find her place, she realises there’s more to being a hero than just a cool costume.
A side note here, Kamala’s powers will differ from the comics as she will not be an Inhuman who is exposed to Terrigen Mist. According to the short snippets of footage seen in sizzle reels, Ms. Marvel’s powers will possibly manifest in a similar way to Carol Danvers’ abilities in Captain Marvel. It’s long been rumoured that Carol will pop up, but nothing has been confirmed or denied.
Ms. Marvel will tie into The Marvels, which will feature Kamala fighting side-by-side with Carol and Monica Rambeau.
Who Can We Trust?
Who doesn’t love Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury? He’s always been a favourite of ours, and we’re so glad that he’s getting to take centre stage again. However, this time, he’s not the hotshot S.H.I.E.L.D. rookie. Nor is he the director of the organisation. Set in the present-day MCU (allegedly), Fury will reunite with his Skrull buddy, Talos, in Secret Invasion.
We don’t have a synopsis for the series as of the typing of this post. But, if the series is close to the comics, we’ll be in for a few surprises. Furthermore, there may be an explanation to when Fury and Talos switched places before Spider-Man Far From Home hence the post-credit scene for that film and the comment made in No Way Home regarding Fury being off-world for a year.
Jackson reunites with Ben Mendelsohn and Cobie Smulders. They will be joined by Oliva Colman and Emilia Clarke.
I Am Groot
Our final show is animated and will star our favourite tree baby. That’s right folks, Groot is taking centre stage. However, unlike What If…?, I Am Groot will be shorts produced by James Gunn. Drax will also appear while Baby Groot will go on adventures while getting into trouble.
