Meet Baby Lyla!
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a grandpa! the actor’s eldest daughter, Katherine has given birth to her first child with husband, Chris Pratt, according to Entertainment Tonight. The new parents took to Instagram to announce the new arrival and her name. The couple’s little girl’s name is Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt.
Katherine’s pregnancy was announced in April.
Lyla’s name also has a special nod to her maternal grandmother, Maria Shriver who is believed to have introduced Katherine and Chris to each other. Also, it appears to be a tradition in the the Schwarzenegger/Shriver family to name the eldest child or either gender after a grandparent.
Katherine’s middle name is Eunice after her own maternal grandmother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
The eldest of Kat’s three younger brothers, Patrick has the middle name Sargent after their maternal grandfather, Sargent Shriver.
Speaking of Patrick, he also broke the news that his sister and brother-in-law had welcomed their baby as mentioned in the above Entertainment Tonight article. He said his sister and new niece were doing well and that he had already bought her a gift. Aww Uncle Patrick! This makes us think that he’s going to spoil Lyla rotten.
Little Lyla joins big brother Jack, Chris’ son with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
Lyla joins a famous family. Not only is her dad Starlord, but her grandpa is The Terminator and a whole bunch of other colourful characters. Her Uncle Patrick is an actor too and her grandma Maria is a member of the Kennedy family.
We couldn’t be happier for Chris and Katherine upon hearing about the birth of baby Lyla. Congrats, lovelies.
