iCarly: Reboot Finale Puts Carly In The Middle Of A… Love Square?

Love Square

Carly is now in the middle of a complicated love square.

No one wants to stumble across their ex in the middle of a wrecked island. Also, is a love square even a thing? Well, the iCarly revival finale has given us both those things. Ooh. Nothing awkward about that, right? It’s what the episode needed to set up what is to come next season. Will Creddie finally happen? We did a theory post a while ago regarding this.

Between Beau and Wes fighting it out for her, Carly appears to realise that there’s another guy who’s better for her; Freddie. While the episode doesn’t examine Creddie too closely, it does some subtle hints. We’ll let the Creddie ship page on the iCarly Fandom site explain.

We noticed that Carly only thanks Spencer when she gets her fake award which was awkward to watch. Though, he seemed to enjoy it. Anyway, Freddie looks like he wants to say something but chooses not to. We hope this comes into play in the premiere for next season because it’s dramatic and fun to witness.

When Beau arrives in the first episode, something gave us the vibe of grossness for reasons foreign to even us. Meanwhile, he gave us a feeling that he saw himself more accomplished than Carly. Ahh, the Webicon award was going to be issued to her and not him. After all, he did tell the iCarly gang that he was the most famous person there.

Let’s not forget that iCarly was the only web show back in the day.

Poor Freddie Never Stood A Chance

When it comes to our beloved Freddie, he has never been good with love, which is evident from his two divorces. However, he and Carly have remained close throughout. Carly has even tolerated Millicent and comes to see her as part of the group. Where she goes, does her dad.

Carly has always supported Freddie in his role as a single parent. She also is the first person to address Millicent as his daughter rather than his stepdaughter.

Freddie, meanwhile, has always supported Carly in anything she has done. However, when it comes to the pair being a couple again after all these years, he never stood a chance against Beau and Wes. Perhaps this is why Benson chose not to speak up. Though, he might if one of them were out of the picture.

Of the three of them, Freddie has more in common with Carly. He understands how she operates while Beau and Wes assume they do. They also don’t have the same level of connection with her.

Freddie said earlier in the season regarding his dates with the sex worker ‘Ramona’ that there was no spark. However, there is a twinkle between him and Carly, and it shows if you pay attention to the signs.

Going Back To Carly

To end this post, we wanted to examine how Carly might feel. She has always gone to Freddie for help with her show because she trusts him. However, in the episode, ‘iTake A Girls’ Trip’, there is nervousness when the song about sex plays. We got sexual chemistry vibes during the whole event.

Carly has always put her heart out there, and so has Freddie. Look at what happened when Beau dumped her on the live stream in the premiere. Who was the one to stop the feed? Freddie, oh, and Spencer. Let’s not forget what happened at Nevel’s wedding in ‘iRobot Wedding’. Benson was the one who went to the bridal suite to ensure she didn’t do anything stupid.

While this wasn’t Carly’s saving grace as Nevel attempted to marry her in place of Prunella, Freddie did try to warn her not to make a scene beforehand. However, in the end, it worked out with the former website critic marrying the apparent robot.

What’s more, Millicent tries to protect her father from heartbreak, knowing he met her mother at a wedding. In the aftermath of the drama, she gives Freddie her blessing for him to dance with Carly.

If Creddie does happen next season, will Carly be ready to accept her role as Millicent’s potential stepmother?
