Gung ho – The kiss between Taylor and Ridge was going to happen. I saw it from the beginning. Bringing the doc back was the ideal way of dividing Bridge. Also, pushing Steffy and Thomas backward from becoming allies to thralls took away from the storyline from years ago when they were teenagers. When their mother died the first time, Brooke became a surrogate mother to them and Phoebe. Ultimately, she loved them, and they felt the same about her.
Fast-forward to now, and Steffy and Thomas are calling their on-off stepmother “toxic.” God, I wish the writers would go back and revisit what was scripted previously. Yes, I’m aware that the writers have changed over the years, but the show has become a mess where previous storylines aren’t mentioned.
Going back to the Tridge kiss, from the second Taylor showed up in Steffy’s house unannounced, I knew that there was going to be drama. If you pay enough attention, this is where Miss CEO starts pushing her father to take her mother back and to dump Brooke.
The Whole Reason Bridge Got Back Together
One storyline that should be mentioned is the reason Brooke and Ridge got back together in the first place. RJ. Their only child. Thomas and Steffy forget about their younger brother. RJ’s wish was for his parents to be together and remarry after a few years apart. Well, it happened, and as they say, the rest is history.
The writers don’t look back at previous storylines before they come up with small ones. Though, Hope did indirectly mention things Ridge and Taylor have done. Not to mention, there was the whole Brooke-Deacon affair when he was married to Bridget, which resulted in Hope’s conception.
Ridge has always returned to Brooke when something hasn’t gone right with Taylor. Though, this has gone in reverse too. No wonder the Hope-Liam-Steffy situation was so similar.
So, It’s Okay For Ridge To Kiss Taylor, But It’s Not For Brooke To Kiss Deacon?
While the Tridge kiss happened at the end of the final episode for the week, we can imagine – no, we know – that Steffy and likely Thomas will be raving about how amazing it is that Brooke is out and Taylor is in.
Knowing Steffy and Thomas, they’re going to be applauding their parents kissing when they criticised Brooke for that “prohibited” kiss with Deacon. Whatever happens next will just show the hypocrisy of this even more.
