College Admissions Scandal: Lori Loughlin And Mossimo Giannulli Sentenced To Prison Time

sentenced; spoilt rich kid

How the mighty have fallen. Full House star Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli have been sentenced for their involvement in the College Admissions Scandal.

Being rich and overly privileged has not stopped Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli from being sentenced to a total of 7 months in prison for their roles in 2019’s College Admissions Scandal, which was the biggest scandal of the year. The couple is accused of paying half a million dollars in bribes to get their daughters into the University of Southern California. She and her husband also had their daughters fake rowing pictures. Lori pleaded not guilty twice as well.

News.com.au reports that Loughlin will only serve two months for her role while her husband will serve five. Both will also have to pay hefty fines with Lori needing to pay $150,000 while Mossimo will cough up $250,000. Meanwhile, the couple are also required to do community service.

Our Reaction

These two insanely rich people getting sentenced is great news. However, looking through Twitter, there were individuals who bought up very good points.

Look at some of the tweets above.

There was a case where a black woman got sentenced to 3 years in prison. Why? She put the wrong address on her daughter’s school enrolment forms. This is a simple mistake that anyone could make. White privileged Lori gets only 2 months. Not a good example when dealing with wealthy people as it makes others think they won’t get caught or punished severely.

Yes, Loughlin and Giannulli took plea deals despite saying they were ‘innocent’. Therefore, they got off lightly. Meanwhile, they used their privilege to avoid spending decades in prison. Also, why didn’t Lori get the same amount of time as her husband? She was just as involved as Mossimo.

Olivia Jade, her youngest daughter said that her mother wanted her to go like she didn’t have a say. Though, that does not make her innocent either. Lori has since started her prison time.
