Who Voices Fat Albert?

Fat Albert, voice actors

This post will be a bit controversial given the person we will be referencing. So, we’re talking about the voice actor behind the animated character, Fat Albert. The character was created and voiced by disgraced comedian Bill Cosby for the animated children’s series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, which began airing in 1972 and concluded in 1985. There was a special that predated it in 1969 called Hey, Hey, Hey, It’s Fat Albert.

The character was later adapted to live-action in the 2004 movie Fat Albert, starring Kenan Thompson. This film continues the animated series where the characters leave the animated world and enter reality.

Now, the reason why Fat Albert is controversial is because of the crimes his voice actor, Bill Cosby, allegedly committed against women across his years in the entertainment industry as the father on The Cosby Show.

Bill Cosby has maintained for years that he is innocent of any crime. These allegations became public knowledge in 2014 after comedian Hannibal Burgess referred to it during a stand-up routine. As more women came forward with their own stories of sexual abuse at the actor’s hands, reruns of The Cosby Show were pulled from the air. Any other program where Cosby appeared were also removed from syndication.

The fallout of the allegations were horrific for Cosby and his career. He was imprisoned and was later released. His wife, Camille, has stood by him the entire time. There were even attempts to cover up a lot of the cases as evident with Wendy Williams who became a target for Cosby when she called him out, prompting him to call her boss, demanding he fire her for her comments.
