Russell Crowe Joins Kraven The Hunter

Russell

Looks like Russell Crowe has Marvel on the brain. Not literally, of course. Kellen Murack of Full Circle Cinema reports that the Oscar-Winner will be jumping over into Sony’s Marvel Universe with Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the upcoming Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven the Hunter will be the second Marvel film Russell appears in, with the first being the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, where he’ll portray ZeusIt is currently unknown whom Crowe will play, but if Full Circle Cinema is to be believed, he could be playing a member of the anti-hero’s family. His father, perhaps? That would be really cool. After all. He played Superman’s father, Jor-El, in Man of Steel.

The one question we still have is whether the characters from Kraven and the upcoming Madame Web film will eventually cross over into the MCU. It’s possible as the process already started with the inclusion of Tom Hardy’s Venom showing up in a post-credit scene in Spider-Man No Way Home. With the MCU currently dealing with the multiverse, bringing the rest of the Sony-Marvel characters over would be the perfect excuse. Though, they might have to explain how the characters played by Russell are both in the franchise.

Zeus is a God who doesn’t have to be used all the time. It could be similar to Gemma Chan playing two different characters in two different MCU films. Or even Michelle Yeoh, playing two characters who never interact due to their placements in the overall MCU.

More Intel Coming Soon

Kraven is one of Spider-Man’s most famous adversaries outside of Mysterio, Green Goblin, and Venom. So, will Russell have to don a Russian accent? We won’t know for a while. So, we’ll be keeping you as up-to-date as we can on this latest development with this film. So, please be sure to subscribe to the blog and our newsletter for more information when it comes to hand.
