It’s one thing to write for a tabloid, but it’s something else entirely when it appears that the Kensington Palace is being accused of favouriting the Duchess of Cambridge over that of the Duchess of Sussex when it comes to the media.
Is Kensington Palace favouriting Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge over Meghan, Duchess of Sussex? It appears that way when you look at the evidence presented. According to Nine Honey, the former actress sees the statement issued about the Tatler article written about her sister-in-law as a massive ‘slap in the face’.
The article claims that the Palace never once stepped in to shield the former actress from the press the way they have Catherine. We have reason to believe there’s a reason for this. When you look at how much controversy Meghan and Harry have stirred up compared to the Cambridges, it’s easy to see why one duchess would be protected while the other is left out to dry.
While this isn’t right, it’s to be expected. Catherine will one day be Queen Consort to William when he becomes King. Meghan, as the wife as the sixth-in-line to the throne is basically grass that her in-laws walk on. As cruel as that sounds, it’s true. There’s a pecking order and the former actress doesn’t have a high enough standing in the family.
It should also be noted that favouriting the Duchess of Cambridge is a rare move for Kensington Palace. Normally, they don’t speak out against the media, but why they would to do so this time is interesting for a few reasons.
Tatler’s Claims
For those who don’t know, Tatler is basically the Woman’s Day for the rich and snooty in Britain. What makes the scandal involving the Duchess of Cambridge intriguing is that the posh gossip rag claims it told the Palace they were publishing the piece on Catherine months ago. However, KP [Kensington Palace] has said the following:
This story contains a swathe of inaccuracies & false misrepresentations which were not put to Kensington Palace prior to publication.

The publication also defended the writer of the article, Anna Pasternak who all but criticises the Duchess by claiming she has an ‘aura of blandness’ according to the Guardian, but she praises her survival skills. That’s a bit harsh for Tatler to say when the Duchess will one day become Queen of the Commonwealth realms as a supportive and influential figure during her husband’s reign.
Tatler’s statement is as a follows:
Tatler’s Editor-in-Chief Richard Dennen stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.

Of course the Editor-in-Chief would stand by Anna Pasternak and her ‘sources’. Most employers are required to stand up for their employees just to keep their reputation in tact.
Perhaps The Palace Are Tired Of Meghan And Harry’s Demands
Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals so the idea of Kensington Palace favouriting Catherine shouldn’t be too much of an issue, right? After all, it is the Cambridge office. Well, Meghan and Harry don’t seem to realise that they aren’t high up on the food chain anymore. Charles and the Queen can’t vouch for them anymore.
It should be no secret to the Sussexes that the Palace is sick and tired of their drama. All they did when they were working on behalf of Her Majesty was complain. Harry wasn’t happy because his brother told him to slow his and Meghan’s relationship down. He was least than thrilled when his grandmother said his then-fiancée couldn’t wear an Emerald tiara on their wedding day. The list goes on.
We reckon that the Palace staff probably had a meeting to discuss the Duchess’ antics. They probably also discussed how Harry didn’t do anything to stop her from reforming the family to her liking. The kid we all came to love who walked behind his mother’s coffin with his brother is gone and has been replaced with someone we don’t recognise.
The Palace can see it, so why can’t anyone else? Perhaps, it is better that Harry and Meghan left the family. If they’re just going to throw tantrums because Catherine is being protected by KP, then it’s better for everyone.
