It’s long been rumoured that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan ruined Princess Eugenie’s wedding by revealing they were expecting Archie. However, according to an article by Harper’s Bazaar, this is far from the truth.
Around the time Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank, tabloids alleged Harry and Meghan hijacked the wedding by announcing they were expecting Archie. However, it turns out there was more going on behind the scenes.
The magazines and other tabloid outlets claimed that Eugenie was far from happy that her cousin and his new wife had spoiled her wedding. However, this is not what actually happened.
What Actually Happened
According to an article published in October 2018 by Harper’s Bazaar, Harry and Meghan did NOT reveal their pregnancy news at the wedding. Instead, the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, Eugenie and Jack were told about the pending arrival before the nuptials. However, most of the other people at the event, didn’t know.
What was also made unclear was whether Prince William and Catherine knew the couple were expecting Archie before the wedding. Later, it came out saying that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were delighted for the couple.
While Harry and Meghan were at the wedding, it was the first time Eugenie and Jack were able to congratulate them in person.
There You Have It
People called Harry and Meghan’s move to reveal they were expecting Archie at Eugenie’s wedding as attention seeking. However, we weren’t aware of this new version of events until we researched it.
While we’ll never know what actually occurred, it’s nice to know that the intent wasn’t malicious. It goes to show that they’re anti-Meghan. They will print anything to make her out to be the bad woman.
It also goes to show that magazine publishers will fabricate stories to get people hooked. They think the public is gullible and while some are, others know to boycott the rags.
Kudos to Harper’s Bazaar to setting the truth straight or at least, trying to.
