Stargirl: Cindy Will Begin Recruiting Her Own Team… Oh, Crap! We Think We Know What That Means!

Cindy

Look out, Courtney! Cindy is coming for you…

As we near the end of our Stargirl hiatus, we have some additional information regarding Cindy Burman. Yes. THAT Cindy Burman. Meg DeLacy revealed in an interview, according to our good friends at Stargirl Wiki, that Shiv is going to be recruiting her own team. We have a massive sense of dread of what this could potentially mean.

Outside of recruiting her own team, it doesn’t really surprise us that Cindy has dropped out of Blue Valley High. This was bought up last season during a conversation outside the Burman house between Beth and Chuck. They did not believe for a second that she’d gone overseas with her stepmother, Bobbie.

Going back over to the recruitment and we think we know who she’s going to join forces with outside of Eclipso. So, without ado let’s get into it.

ISA 2.0

Last season it was teased that Cindy was tired of being the only evil legacy to know about her dad being… well, evil. She mentioned that none of the actual ISA legacies knew about their parents and their scheming. By the end of episode 13 very few of the Injustice Society’s adults were left standing.

Icicle, Fiddler, and Dragon King – who is not officially ISA – were all dead by the end. The Shade showed up and no one ever knew. Grundy was let go by Rick Tyler and Tigress and Sportsmaster are in prison. So that leaves their children mostly to fend for themselves. Also, The Gambler is MIA but as far as we know, has no children in the show.

Cameron is now orphaned and being raised by his grandparents who know more than they’re letting on. Artemis is likely in the care of the state as her parents are behind bars. Or perhaps she’s with friends. We’ll probably find out when the premiere goes to air. Isaac is likely under the same vote as Artemis as his father is in jail but his mother is dead.

Also, Joey Zarick is dead and so is Henry King Jr. However, Henry could’ve been JSA as well because his mother and uncle were superheroes.

What Team Could Cindy Form If It’s Not The ISA?

There are several groups Cindy might be forming. Some examples include:

  • The Society
  • Injustice League
  • Suicide Squad
  • Black Dragon Society
  • Injustice Unlimited
  • Young All-Stars

These are just a few of the groups that the various villains operate in the comics. Many of them including Cameron, Artemis, Paula, and Larry, they’ve served in the same groups. However, newer villains like Shiv have only ever been associated with one; the Injustice Society. This could be her chance to really stick out. After all, she was a Geoff Johns creation who made her debut in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E like Courtney Whitmore did.

Eclipso’s Influence?

Could it be possible that Eclipso is the driving force behind Cindy’s decisions to form a new team of villains? Or roads point to maybe. Let us explain what we mean by this.

Cindy is one of those characters that is independent enough to not fall for any form of scheme. She knew instantly that Courtney was Stargirl and she didn’t even have to pull off the mask. However, she was still in the school gym when Pat started calling for his stepdaughter after the staff went looking for him. This is possibly how Shiv knew who her adversary was.

Though, Cindy isn’t stupid. She’s pretty cluey and wasn’t afraid to tell Courtney that when she has the chance, she’ll kill her. Classic Cindy.

With the recent cast portraits released, is Cindy controlling Eclipso, or is it the other way around? After all, the diamond is hanging around her neck.

Cindy might think she’s in control but when in reality, it’s Eclipso who is. It will interesting how much is revealed about Cindy’s relationship with the prince of darkness in the early part of the season. She obviously knew who he was when she found the diamond at the end of last season. Though, how did she know about him? Did her father mention something when she was younger?

Did she do her research and not tell anyone? We know her past isn’t exactly colourful. Her dad saw her as a failed experiment and her stepmother, Bobbie was basically her plaything that she could abuse as much as she wanted. Having Eclipso come out and play could be catastrophic for not just Blue Valley but her too.
