Princess Eugenie and Jack have introduced the world to their son, August…

Sorry, Meghan but you’ve overstayed your welcome in the headlines today. Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank have introduced the world to their son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank in a series of Instagram snaps.

The announcement of the birth of little August came on February 9 (in Britain) on Princess Eugenie’s Instagram when she posted a photo of her and Jack’s hands holding that of their newborn’s. On the same day, the Royal family Insta account posted the birth announcement instead of the traditional easel outside Buckingham Palace.

The reveal of the child’s name comes almost twelve days since the birth of August. This is not an unusual tactic. Eugenie’s uncle Prince Charles’ name was unveiled a month after his birth.

Meanwhile, Beatrice, Eugenie’s older sister’s name got announced two weeks after her birth. Eugenie herself had her name unearthed just a week after her arrival.

What makes Eugenie and Jack’s son’s arrival special is he honours Prince Philip who is in hospital. It was speculated that little August might’ve been given ‘Stamp’ as a middle name as it is one of his father’s names.

We could not be more thrilled for Eugenie and Jack and wish them and little August all the best. There’s no doubt that his grandparents are going to spoil him rotten.

It’s been really nice to see some happy news from the royals outside of the drama surrounding the Sussexes. Princess Eugenie seems to have used the opportunity to push some lighter coverage onto the royal family. This comes after the announcement of Harry and Meghan’s final departure drew negative headlines.

Welcome to the world little August!
